Las Vegas, Nevada – Hearing Test
In order to obtain the best possible hearing improvement with our digital hearing instruments, the first step is to have a complete hearing evaluation at one of our offices in either Henderson, Summerlin, or Las Vegas, Nevada. A hearing test at Audiology Associates of Las Vegas can incorporate a number of different techniques to give us a complete picture of the condition of your hearing. For example, using a camera called a videotoscope, we can show you the condition of your ear canal and eardrum to rule out wax as a problem. To find out how we can help you hear more clearly, contact our office in Las Vegas, Nevada for a complete hearing test.
Tympanometry – Acoustic Reflex Testing
Tympanometry and Acoustic Reflex Testing are tests to help identify abnormalities in the auditory system. Your audiologist will insert a device that will change the pressure within your ear. From this measurement, we can rule out some outer and middle ear problems such as a perforated eardrum or fluid behind the eardrum.
Otoacoustic Emissions (OAEs)
Otoacoustic emissions testing is an effective type of hearing test that measures minute sounds, inaudible sound waves inside your ear. Most people with normal hearing have otoacoustic emissions, but those with more than mild hearing loss do not. OAEs are therefore an objective measure of your inner ear function.
High Frequency Audiometry
High frequency audiometry, offered at our Las Vegas, Nevada practice, extends beyond the pitch range of a typical hearing test. It can be very useful for diagnosing the cause of tinnitus (ringing of the ears), determining the pitch match to a patient's tinnitus, and determining if you would be a good candidate for our tinnitus treatment.
